FAQs
Last modified: August 10, 2010Q. When keeping fertile eggs, how do you store them and how long can they be kept for before setting under a hen or in the incubator?
A. We try our best to keep the cleanest eggs stored with the pointed end down in the carton and kept at approximately a 45 degree angle which we can every 24 hours, this stops the air cell moving from the thick end of the egg, also it prevents the yolk from sticking to the membrane as this can result in the yolk tearing as the chick develops. As a rule we keep our eggs for between 10 – 14 days maximum before setting in our incubator.
